I’ve been meaning to contact you for quiet a while, but I couldn’t fine your email anywhere, so I thought I’d just ask my question here.

You see, I’m currently staying in a mid-eastern country called Bahrain, you’ve probably heard of it if you keep up with world news. Anyway, I really, really want the monogatari light novels, I love the series, adore it, and was wondering if you could ship your products to Bahrain?

    • readfag says:

Haha, I guess i should put the email up on the about page.

I’m not actually shipping myself, Blurb handles all that, and unfortunately, they would seem not to ship there. The only suggestion that i can give (or at least, that comes to mind), is to have it sent to a package bouncer in America or similar, who can then post it to you.

i hope it works out for you!

Would you by chance update your Kizumonogatari on blurb.com with the newer translations by Baka-Tsuki? The word choices are better and there seems to be 50 more pages and some images as well. Though, you should keep the cover and back cover because that’s superior to the one on the PDF of the newer one (2011).

Otherwise, can you tell me how you did the blurb version? Such as how you reformatted all the pages to fit the dimensions you wanted, changing the chapters to the middle of the page, etc.

    Thanks

    • Danny says:

Actually, considering you published this in 2012, I’m wonder why your version is different than the one here:
      http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Monogatari_Series:Kizumonogatari/Koyomi_Vamp

The PDF on the above link is also (as I mentioned earlier) 50 pages more than the one you have on blurb. Since the one I linked above is from 2011, why does it seem that you have a different one considering it’s from the same translation group.

If there are nearly no differences or that your version is superior, please do tell me.

      Thanks.

      • Danny says:

Nevermind, I just realized that your version is directly taken from their website while their PDF is, I guess, the more cleaned up version updated recently. So my original question still holds if you want to update your blurb copy or not.

        • readfag says:

Yeah, looks like it’s an updated copy – that wasn’t around when I did it (I think…)
I’ve been unexpectedly busy with work and study, but I’ve got the new *monogatari templates ready for content, so I can set out the new content for kizu at the same time as neko.
Not going to give a timeframe, i’m too good at procrastinating for it to mean anything.

As for how I do it, I use the text from the source text, and reformat it into my own page templates in Adocrap InDesign, then upload it to Blurb

          • Danny says:

Oh I see. Well, I really want to buy the book however, the new and updated copy is really well done so I don’t want to buy an old copy. I don’t know how long this wait will be though :S.

Also, you plug in all that text? That’s a whole lot of text.If I know how to use Adocrap Indesign, I’d do it myself but alas I don’t. I do however possess the .doc format of Kizumonogatari so you can easily peel the text from that rather than converting it from PDF. I can send that to you if you want.

I await this release, hopefully done in maybe…1 month? I’d love that haha.

is this the most up to date version?
reading the comments it seems at one point it was not but that was almost 2 years ago, now. so i’m wondering if this is the most current one?

  4. hopefull-d says:
